Cordell W.J. Chang

Dr. Cordell W.J. Chang, 78, of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away on January 19, 2024. A graduate of Washington State University (’79), Dr. Chang specialized in small animal medicine and practiced with the Naito Animal Clinic group. Besides his veterinary practice, he was known for raising canaries. Dr. Chang contributed significantly to the veterinary community by serving as Hawaii’s delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates and was active with the Honolulu Veterinary Society. He is survived by his wife, Debra, and a brother.

Barbara Jeffords Crews

Dr. Barbara Jeffords Crews, 69, of El Paso, Texas, died on December 12, 2023. She graduated from Texas A&M University (’78) and co-owned Crossroads Animal Hospital in El Paso. Dr. Crews leaves behind her husband, William, and a sister. Memorial contributions can be made to Bridge Center, Unit 159, Box 3080, El Paso, TX 79923.

Bruce C. Hansen

Dr. Bruce C. Hansen, 86, of Vincentown, New Jersey, passed away on February 8, 2024. An alumnus of the University of Illinois (’62), Dr. Hansen served in the Army before joining a mixed animal practice in Wrightstown, New Jersey. He eventually took over the practice and focused on equine medicine. Dr. Hansen was a founding member of the New Jersey Trail Riders Association. He is survived by his wife, Mae, a daughter, and a grandchild. Donations in his memory can be made to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, 42 Arneytown-Hornerstown Road, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514.

Ronald C. Jensen

Dr. Ronald C. Jensen, 85, of Davis, California, died on February 12, 2024. A graduate of Iowa State University (’62), Dr. Jensen was an esteemed equine veterinarian. He served as a commission veterinarian for the Illinois Racing Board and later as the equine medical director with the California Horse Racing Board through UC-Davis. He also worked with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s Safety & Integrity Alliance. Dr. Jensen was an active member of the AAEP and held several leadership roles. In retirement, he participated in the Kiwanis Club of Davis and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UC-Davis. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, two daughters, and a grandchild. Paul G. Schneible

Dr. Paul G. Schneible, 79, of Perry, New York, passed away on November 27, 2023. A Cornell University graduate (’69), he was a founding partner at Perry Veterinary Clinic and practiced there for over 40 years. Dr. Schneible also worked for VIP Petcare and served multiple terms on the New York State Board of Regents. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, two daughters, and a brother. One of his daughters, Dr. Susan M. Schneible (Ross ’04), is also a veterinarian. Donations can be made to the Perry Education Foundation, 33 Watkins Ave., Perry, NY 14530.

Scott P. Tripp

Dr. Scott P. Tripp, 70, of Logan, Utah, died on January 3, 2024. He graduated from Colorado State University (’82) and worked for Amelicor in Utah, providing nationwide consultation and technical services to dairies. Dr. Tripp previously practiced at Bridgerland-Cache Animal Hospital in Logan and co-owned Valley Veterinary Services in Richmond, Utah. He is survived by his wife, Judy Smith, two daughters, two sons, eight grandchildren, and three siblings.

James L. Turbok

Dr. James L. Turbok, 90, of Deckerville, Michigan, passed away on March 21, 2024. A graduate of Michigan State University (’57), Dr. Turbok co-founded Deckerville Veterinary Clinic. He was active with the 4-H Club and served on the Deckerville Community Hospital board of directors. Dr. Turbok is survived by his son, daughter, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister.
